Kristin Jarmund Architects has won first prize in the invited competition to build a new office cluster for the client Oslo Areal. "Fyrstikkalléen 1" consists of three sculptural volumes shaped to ensure interesting views and generous daylight for the app. 37.000m2 office space.

KJ-A, in collaboration with SJ Architects and Grindaker Landscape Architects, won the competition to develop a site in Kongsberg, Norway. The plan contains app. 8.500 m² small scale housing and commercial areas. We've made an effort to integrate the new development with the existing historic context creating quality living conditions in lush outdoor areas. The new structures drape and conceal a 15.000 m² parking house.

With a brand new 3D printer in the office, KJ-A has now fully entered the digital age. The "Form 1" 3D printer allows us to print physical scale models directly from our digital models, giving us a valuable tool to evaluate and communicate our designs.

The American Institute of Architects has granted Kristin Jarmund with one of their six Honorary Fellowships AIA for 2011. Only three other Norwegian architects have received this honour - Sverre Fehn, Kjell Lund and Nils Slaatto.
